At Clissold Park, Stoke Newington, North London.

Picking Blackberry Grown In The Wild. How Cool Is That?

Blooming Blackberry

Today's walk takes us from the green spaces of Clissold Park with its zoo in north London to Woodberry Wetlands where it unravels hidden, magical waterways. Another part of London I have not been to or knew existed.

Glad that today's Rail Strikes across most rail networks didn't hinder my walk. Ironically, it turns out a blessing in disguise as few trains running were less busy with empty seats and quieter than the usual overcrowded noisy weekend train trips.

Travel warnings often keep people away. Not me as I'd already planned my day, ready and good to go, regardless of Rail Strikes!

You don't know what to expect in these walks until a surprise pops up like magic. Suddenly you walk into the blackberry bush and pick it straight in the mouth. You want to overindulge in this lovely soft juicy fruit. So delicious!

Saturday group walk started from Angel Tube Station on Upper Street in Islington to Finsbury Park, covering 5.5 miles in 2 hrs. You don't feel it until the following day. Join a WALK GROUP to improve your fitness, and breathe fresh air.
